Maintaining furniture at the busy Grey Lynn Community Hall 

Community centres are home to many events and groups – so furniture needs some pre-use TLC!

Not every job we work on is as opulent as a luxury villa or concept department store. Practical community venues require our help too. And seeing our fabric care services ensure these spaces present well and can fulfil their purpose day after day, is just as satisfying.

That’s why this month’s Furnishings in Focus is on the Grey Lynn Community Centre.

This hub hosts exhibitions, dance classes, ballet, playgroups, yoga programs, farmers markets and church services.

It’s home to a bustling community 7 days a week, so the furnishings within are in great need of protection to ensure longevity and vibrancy.

We worked after hours to protect 200 chairs that are in constant use. This means that spilled coffee, sticky finger marks, ingrained food and pen ink to name a few culprits, won’t leave their mark.
